Done for the GnomonWorkshop monthly contest. The theme was “The Labyrinth”. The base structure of the city is 3d. Everything else is painted and photomanipulated in Photoshop. It was featured in CGChosen magazine no5.
This is my concept of environment of the dancing oracle for “300 The Oracle Dance” from VfxTalk in may 2007. - I was looking for a mood to match the overall look and feel of the movie (the well known “crush effect”), but this particular scene is a lot different than the original since the provided footage looks different than the original. I tried to catch the movie look&feel, and also to emphasize the ideea of trance by reversing and timeremapping her motion. Also added some particles around her to emphasize the ideea of magic. Made for CGTalk mattepainting contest. It was featured also on mattepainting.org spotlight, in CGChosen magazine no5. If u like it u can download the wallpaper from cgwallpapers. I made also a making of with all the stages involved, from people removal and set extension to the final mattepainting.

Was made for a contest on vfxtalk. The goal of the contest was to thake a provided picture of the Golden Gate Bridge and make a 5-6 seconds animation of destroying it. I used Photoshop for mattepainting and After Effects to animate it. My goal was to make the animation without any 3d elements in the shot and animating it in After Effects without using any plugin. Here is the animation.
